Group Class

Group class

PROVIDER | RISING STARS

In addition to individual sessions, we also conduct group sessions where various aspects of social interaction, group skills, play skills and study skills are targeted. The groups are divided as primary and secondary where the skills appropriate to the group members are targeted. During these group sessions, we help children learn not only the study skills relevant for an academic and classroom setting but also other skills required for interacting with their peers/friends. Depending upon the group and its age, children are helped to develop skills such as conversations, what is a group, how does one interact in a group, expectations from the child in a group. In addition to interacting with adults/therapists, these groups give children a chance to interact with children of their own age and with the therapists’ help, they learn how to build upon those skills. We also help children play certain games, which are commonly played in the child’s environment so that he/she is not only able to learn the skills required for the game, but is also better prepared when playing those games with others.

With these group sessions, we aim to enhance the child’s skills to interact and engage in situations where he would be with his peers, which is a more frequent and natural setting for the child. Apart from the skills required particularly for groups, these sessions also give us a scope to see how the child is applying skills learnt in individual sessions to a group setting.g disability.

We provide age appropriate assessment and treatment
